I carried this same rifle during the GWOT 2002 - 2006, it’s exactly how I remember it. I don’t buy Colt rifles, for $1,500 there are better rifles on the market but I had to get this one for nostalgia and Buds had it for great price with FREE SHIPPING. Recently got mines in and I gotta say I love a piece of old modern history of a mil spec M4!. As a kid growing up watching those military movies seeing this gun in hand was awesome and now I have one and cannot wait to go out to the range and have some fun. Great purchase from buds and also a reliable site.

While some refer to this as an M4A1 clone, it is not as it is a genuine M4A1 with 14.5" barrel/pinned flash hider and semi-auto only mods so it can be sold to civilians. For purchasers wanting a true modern legal collectable, there are only 2 manufactures of this rifle to the U.S. military, FN and Colt. Colt is the only company that produces a true AR-15. All other rifles are AR-15 pattern (copies of the Colt AR-15) as Colt owns the AR-15 trademark and is the original military supplier. Fit and finish are excellent. Accuracy and trigger are typical expected for a milspec carbine. In general, the U.S.Army uses the MaTech rear sight, while the Marines use the KAK rear sight for optical sight backup. You can't go wrong with this carbine if you're wanting as close to the current military issue as possible.

I loved it so much that I bought another one. Carried one just like it in Afghan and Iraq…trusted my life with it and it never failed on me. Put a M68 (Aimpoint M4 Comp) on one of them and couldn’t be happier.

Excellent firearm from Colt. I carried a MIL version of the M4A1 as a Marine and as a Contractor in Iraq for several years and this model is spot on (minus the selective fire). If you get a chance to pick one of these up, DO NOT hesitate. This M4A1 will not disappoint even the most savvy enthusiasts. First, before I review the Colt M4A1 SOCOM rifle, I have to say Buds makes buying a firearm on- line simple and painless. They are the best bar none. Now onto the rifle. If I have any complaint about the Colt M4A1 SOCOM it is the very faint rollmark on the lower receiver. Colt has switched from using a rollmark die to using a laser to etch the Colt emblem and other info into the lower receiver. The rifle itself feels of the same quality as my older Colt AR15's. This is not the latest and greatest whiz bang AR around. It is a faithful representation of a military grade weapon minus the full auto of course. If that's what you're interested in, don't hesitate to buy one.

The rifle arrived with the US Government roll marks, the 14.5" barrel with pinned/welded flash hider, KAC rail with four full length rail covers, broomstick vertical grip, one aluminum GI magazine and lock. No scratches, nicks, or handling marks from the factory like you occasionally see with NIB Colts. BCG looks good to go. With this model you are adding some weight for the heavy profile SOCOM barrel (heavier under the rail) but with the barrel being shorter than a typical 6920 I think you gain some of that back. At worst it feels like you are moving that weight from the end of the barrel to under the handguard, which makes the rifle feel lighter to me. I had originally purchased this to be a safe queen, but after receiving it I think I am going to slap an Aimpoint on it and run the heck out of it.

I just picked up my rifle today and I must say that is it Very nice! I broke it down and cleaned it as soon as I got home. It is exactly as it's described. The only thing that it doesn't have is an f marked front sight base. I am assuming that they are using a taller front sight to make up the height of the Flattop. Mine came with the property of us M4 A1 stamped reciever, correct socom barrel with the cutouts. Knights rail system with broom handle and quite a few extra panels. Matec rear sight. Pinned and welded flash suppressor. Correct C stamped bolt carrier and MPC bolt. H 2 Buffer, and 4 position stock. All in all it's a true M4 A1. I can't wait to shoot it. I highly recommend this rifle to anyone wanting a M4 A1 copy.

I always wanted a Colt and saw this one at Buds. Right away I thought it would be a great investment and so far it has been. I research everything and this model was my choice. The MBUS front and back are solid along with the entire rifle. Bud's Guns answered all my questions and purchasing it was very simple. I chose to mail in a check and everything went great. I will probably start ordering from Bud's.

Excellent Colt Collector's piece. Received the rifle with the Correct Colt " PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT" Roll Mark, Knights Quad-Rail and Matech Rear Sight; would have returned the Carbine if it didn't have all of those features as advertised. All is Good-To-Go, and the Carbine will remain as a Safe-Queen in the Original Box, Bag and Oil for now.

Love this rifle. Looks and feels great out of the box; only gets better with a few upgrades. After a 1000 rounds I'm even happier. Buds helped make this a perfect transaction.

Ordered this rifle on 10/21/2018 and received it on 10/24/18. Outstanding shipping as always from Buds, I have ordered multiple firearms from them throughout the years and never had a single issue. Only complaint in-reference to this product was it being a left-over 2017 model with the standard "M4A1 Carbine" lower instead of the advertised "Property of US Government". The barrel shows a manufacture date of 03/17 and it only came with 3 KAC rail covers. The upper to lower fit is great and I have no issues with the quality of the finish on either. I could have return the rifle but ultimately its still a Colt M4A1 SOCOM so not worth the trouble and I am happy with the purchase and service.

Pricepoint excellent and shipping time excellent...no issues with Buds; this M4A1 is exactly as described. Not much to add to other reviews except 1) the KAC rail does not include the full complement of rail covers, only 3 full length covers are included, and the broom handle...and 2) this is a CR, not an LE...Colt no longer produces lowers with the LE serial number prefix, they are all CR, which stands for "Colt Rifle". This is a true battle rifle and the standard by which everything else is measured.
