I love it! Absolutely beautiful! My only complaint is there seemed to be some sort of defect with the factory recoil spring. It was binding on the guide rod and having intermittent stoppages. I replaced it with a Wilson Combat 16 pound spring and it has been 100% reliable since with all kinds of ammunition. I’m very happy with this pistol. Highly recommend!

i recently bought a colt 1911 gold cup match .45 acp from buds guns.couldnt be more satisfied with this pistol .it hits everything you aim at right out of the box with no sight adjustment.i own one other colt 1911 in 9mm that was my favorite ,but this gold cup .45 is really the pick of the litter.buds guns once again came thru with price,customer service and speedy delievery.

I always thought about a 1911. I looked at every manufacturer and decided on buying the real deal. A Colt Gold Cup National Match. It was accurate as all get out right out of the box. Then my hits started veering off left until I could find the front post. The reason I couldn’t find was it wasn’t there! It flew off into the grass. Apparently it’s been an issue. Rather than jury rig a new sight I shipped it back to Colt. It’s been 14 days in to a 45 day turnaround. Needless to say I’m very disappointed but the gun is a thing to behold. I would’ve given 5 stars but for the aggravation.

Very nice 1911, fit and finish were perfect. Very accurate. The only issue was the 5-1/2 lb trigger pull. That was easily remedied. Overall very happy with Bud's and my new pistol.

Bought it for my father since he always wanted one and the fit and finish is excellent as the price would suggest. Great gun overall and no malfunctions whatsoever.

This is the nicest Colt I own. Quick purchase from buds and more than good. This gun is accurate and you can feel the extra tooling used. I'm looking forward to buying another in .38. In all my years of shooting and seeing this gun in competition, I glad to finally get one. If you do get one, you won't be sorry.

Missing 7 round mag, allen wrench, soft recoil spring.

I ordered one of the Colt Gold Cup NTL MTC from Buds on 10/28/22 and it arrived at my local FFL dealer 11/1/22. Buds emailed tracking numbers so I could watch the shipping process. This gun was in perfect condition when it arrived, no problems whatsoever. I have confidence in Buds and would buy from them again. The Gold Cup is spectacular! I took it to the range the day after I received it. This is a well engineered and executed piece. I’m very happy with it and would recommend this 1911 to anyone. I give it 5 stars!

Beautiful gun, one of the stars of my collection. Quality is top notch, only drawback is one magazine. Everyone at my FFL wanted to see it and hold it when they saw the Colt box arrive. Glad I upgraded to the Colt, proud to be an owner.

This is an excellent pistol for the money. Great fit and finish, a decent trigger, and well fitted lugs and bushing combine for a great shooter. It’s not a Clark, but you’ll be hard pressed to beat this Colt with another production gun. You’d think Colt could spare a second mag, though. I prefer Chip McCormick mags, but it annoys me that Colt only issues one per pistol. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

There two aspects to my experience with this gun purchase. Unfortunately, the gun arrived missing the trigger Allen wrench, the barrel bushing wrench, the 7 round magazine and the barrel plug. My FFL called Buds and they offered to replace the gun. I called Colt and they offered to send all the missing items. The gun looked good so rather than take a chance on the next gun missing items, I kept the gun and the parts arrived three days later. Gun shoots good, it’s well machined and looks great. So, I would have given it a 5 solely on the gun but it gets a 3 because of all the missing items. Personally, I don’t understand why it arrived missing key parts.

Very good looking gun worth the money didn't care much for the grips but not bad overall it is very tight and no shaky and rattling of the grip safety like my competition series colt. I broke it down to clean and oiled it racked it loaded it. hit the mag release a few times and played with the thumb safety a little seems tight and might need some breaking in I'm positive that 200 rounds through it and it will be a great gun I'm very happy with this purchase and again very happy with buds services

I would like to state that this is somewhat of a bias opinion. (being I've wanted one of these for 20 years) But any way this is a great gun and I would buy it again. Smooth action, everything you would expect. Thanks Buds for giving me such a great price on my dream gun.

This colt is a tack driver, is a beautiful gun

Beautiful gun. A pleasure to look at and hold. Shoots very well. Exactly what it is supposed to be. Gun is more accurate than I am. I do not know enough to assess the real quality of the gun. The edges on some of the parts seem roughly cut, as though there was no finishing after the saw cut. I have held other 1911's and older Colt's that I thought had superior finish work. Honestly I bought this gun just for the name and the legacy, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am rating the gun 4 stars only because I had very high expectations, basically perfection, which may not have been reasonable. I had never purchased a handgun online before and highly recommend Bud's for their service and the ease of use of their website. The shipping was free, they found a low cost FFL in my area that I did not know was there, and they had the gun to him two days after my order.

The recent news out of Hartford and a rediscovery of bullseye competition prompted my purchase of the Series 70 Gold Cup National Match. Reading up on the history of Colt's Camp Perry pistols, I was impressed by the fact these Gold Cup National Match pistols are mechanically the best of the breed. Earlier National Match pistols had lightened slides (prone to cracking) and later models included an overly complicated sear, neither of which is a problem with these latest Gold Cups. Out of the box the pistol has been reliable and came from the factory not too far off zero at 25 yards for 200gr. SWC target loads using a six o'clock hold. In the most recent edition of "Guns" magazine, a reader complained of the National Match's GI hammer, grip, and thumb safeties. If I'm not mistaken, those features are mandated for a 1911 to be Camp Perry legal, thus the Gold Cup Trophy is not Camp Perry legal. As well, I prefer GI hammers and safeties though the later will need their edges broken if you plan on doing serious range/carry work with the piece; which I plan to do. Another smooth transaction with Bud's.

I couldn't be more pleased with this new Colt (05870A1) Gold Cup NTL Match...the finish is beautiful, slide is tight, and the 4 lb factory trigger is perfect -minimum travel, no creep, and breaks like glass. I shot a hundred rounds of plain-jane Winchester 230gr hardball the first time out at my indoor range at 10, 15, and 20 yards to break in, and the sights are dead on...I haven't moved them. This 1911 is a keeper. Thank you Colt for a very fine pistol, and thanks to Buds for the excellent price and customer service.

What can you say about a gold cup series 70. Super accurate and 100% reliable with sd and ball ammo. This one is a true piece to own and admire.

I received my Colt Series 70 Gold Cup today. I inspected it prior to transfer, as instructed by Bud's. I found it to be without flaws and it appeared to be a quality firearm. I took it home and cleaned it thoroughly. I checked the weight of the trigger pull and it gauged right around 5 pounds. I was hoping for a lighter pull, but hopefully it will lighten up with use. I have yet to shoot it, but so far I am very satisfied.

What can I say, very beautiful gun. Everything you expect from a Colt . I have no negative feedback. I highly recommend a gold cup for your colt collection. Excellent customer service.
