I purchased my Weatherby Orion 28”, 12 gauge eight months ago. I have enjoyed shooting American Trap but more fun shooting on the Skeet Ranges. Installed two Skeet choke tubes. I’ve shot around 1,500 shots thru it and it has performed very well. I purchased an Orion 30”, 20 gauge for my Son’s birthday on the strength of the first one I purchased. Love the Weatherby’s!

SWEET SHOTGUN I purchased this gun for Sporting Clays. While Its only been out twice so far, I find it to be a sweet shooter. Still getting used to it but it fits like a glove. The action was a little stiff but is loosening with use. Not only is the gun a sweet shooter but it's beautiful too. I absolutely love the wood. My brother was so impressed he went out and purchased one as well. Can't go wrong with this beauty.

I've owned this shotgun for a couple of years now and can say it is reliable and shoots great. The fit and finish on the Orion is awesome and gets compliments all the time. I have used this gun to shoot skeet and in the field while dove hunting, the Orion has performed well in both instances. This is a great gun for the money.

Best inventory and price!

I bought this gun for South Texas Dove hunting and have been using it every year since purchase. I wanted at least one gun that looked good and shouldered well when hunting over tilled grain fields in the fall. This gun has been an absolute joy to shoot and fit me perfectly right out of the box. I have run through about 250 rounds of various ammo brands without any issues at all. The furniture and fit on this gun is really amazing. I tend to only use this gun when the weather is good and I don't need to scramble through mesquite and cactus because i want to keep that factory new shine. Some shooters have commented on the atypical thickness of the fore end, however, for me personally i like this feature as it feels better in my large and somewhat arthritic hands.

Though made in Turkey, you can't tell outwardly. This Orion is a thing of beauty. The finish on this is outstanding and easily comes across as a shotgun costing much more than the price I paid. She shoots well. Some folks say the foregrip makes the shotty appear pregnant but I don't dislike it and it doesn't affect when I shoot mine. She looks great in the gun cabinet as well.

Took this gun out for the first time the other day. works and handles beautiful. Great price from Bud's. Always the best place to purchase firearms.

I've had this gun for a little while now, and I love it. Nice and tight, the finish is excellent, and its pretty fantastic to shoot. I've been shooting with it a lot now, and I really have no complaints. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to shoot, but like me, just doesn't want to spend multiple thousands of dollars. For the price, i really dont think there is a gun better.

My task was simple. Find two identical entry level over and under shotguns for my twin grandsons' up coming fourteenth birthday. With the scarcity of many shotguns today I was concerned about quality and price. Weatherby fit the bill perfectly. I was particularly pleased with the fitting of wood to metal and the Orion 1 was clearly the product leader. I own a Weatherby rifle and as a result expected a quality shotgun and got it. I have yet to get them to the trap range but am certain they will perform to the quality expected of Weatherby.

I’ve always wanted a Weatherby Orion and finally made it happen. This shotgun is as good, or better, than many guns costing three times the price. The fit and finish is perfect, controls placement is perfect for me, the detailing is superb, and the gun handles like a dream. I get on target quickly and the follow through is natural. I bought the 28” because my primary use is sporting clay’s. I added only skeet chokes to match my need. Overall, I’m very happy with this gun and can find no fault at all.

I am very pleased with my purchase. I also have a Browning Citori in 16ga. The Orion seems to fit me fine and shoulders/swings nicely. The finish is typical for Weatherby and is beautiful if you like high gloss. On the plus side the Orion has ejector/extractors so only fired cases are ejected and the unfired rounds are extracted. Also a big plus is the fact that the trigger on the Orion does not require recoil inertia to reset it. For example: if for some reason the first selected barrel does not fire, you can simply release the trigger and pull it again to fire the second barrel. This is not the case with the Citori. I found this out by accident during my first time at the trap range with my Orion. I loaded only the top barrel but accidentally selected the bottom barrel to fire first. On the second pull of the trigger the top barrel fired.
The only negative is that opening/closing the action is a bit stiff (I have only fired 50 rnds thru it). It is not as smooth as my Citori but, considering the price difference, it is not really fair to compare the two.
My 5 star rating is based on value for the money. I'm not comparing it to $2000+ guns.

Juist got this home and unboxed it . I found no flaws whatsoever. I seen no problems with the packaging. Another great job by BudsGuns!!. Can't wait to get it out and shoot it.

just got this Weatherby Orion 28in 12 gauge this afternoon. I did look the shotgun over before taking the gun home. yes the shotgun came in a cardboard box but my guess is, it saw tested way before they started shipping them in cardboard boxes to keep cost down. my shotgun is awesome. had to put the gun together and i brought snap caps with me to make sure both firing pins went off one at a time.. all went well. the shotgun is snug when opening or closing the break action but she locked up tight when closed.no rust anywhere i nice oil film on the gun. both bores shinny clean and no marks or dings anywhere that i could see at the store. my experience with this shotgun is the great upgraded fetchers locking lugs, auto ejection, and the care that was took to make a great product for a great price. like buying a ruger. Built like a tank Too. Thank you Weatherby. And a big thanks to Buds gun shop. Best online buying gun shop. they got your back !!!

Received my Weatherby ORION at my local FFL dealer. Opened the box and was pleasantly surprised to see it in excellent condition. I do agree with other reviews that Weatherby could do better on packaging just in case it goes through rough travels and will arrive in good shape. Checked the barrels and breach for surface rust as to that was mentioned prior to my purchase in other reviews and I found NONE. I have since taken it apart and cleaned cleaned the gun thoroughly and re-oiled it with Hoppes Gun Oil and it looks fantastic. I have not shot it yet because life just gets in the way. I am not expecting any issues. Gun is tight and needs some rounds put through it which is how it should be. Thanks Buds Gun Shop for moving my order along accordingly. Gary D. Boring, Oregon

Great gun. Stick 'em in and pull the trigger. Swings great, recoil is as you would expect with a 12ga. Finish is a bit glossy for my taste but that's just a matter of opinion on sheen... As far as accuracy I believe most folks wont be able to tell the difference between this and a $300 gun.

Solid firearm. Great, simple overall look. Polished wood. Functions flawlessly. Buds is great as always.

Just took my Weatherby Orion 1 out for a duck hunt. Love this gun!. I own guns that are more expensive than the Orion, but
this is a beautiful easy shooting over under. I would recommend this gun with 5 stars.

Very well made O/U shotgun. The finish on the wood is very glossy and easy to clean. The action breaks open smoothly and locks securely. I've used this shotgun on the trap range often and it has been a very good shooting gun. Buds did a great job shipping the gun, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.

Sweet over/under. Now I'm want weatherby to make it in 20 gauge. Great gun for beginners wanting to shoot clays but good enough for a seasoned shooter as.

I was somewhat hesitant due to several reviews which mentioned inferior packaging and rust on the gun upon delivery. I don't know what circumstances led to those reviews, but I can say that my gun was delivered in excellent, tight fitting cardboard packaging, and wrapped in plastic. It was in absolutely perfect condition. I've only put fewer than ten rounds through it so far, but the gun is frankly nicer than I expected for the price. I wanted a low cost over/under with auto ejectors (these work extremely well on the gun) and spent a lot of time looking through options and reviews online. It seems solidly built and the craftsmanship seems very good. I'm not an expert, but so far the quality exceeds my expectations for a very reasonable price. Bud's was great on the transaction, as usual.

I ordered a Weatherby Orion from Buds a couple of weeks ago; I was a little nervous about buying it because I had read couple of reviews where people claimed to have found some small areas with some rust on them. But the Orion that I received has no such issues. It is totally gorgeous!. It's really almost to nice looking to shoot! Thanks, Bud
