My new favorite firearm, and I have quite a few. In the picture it’s the 500 magnum in comparison to my Ruger SP101 357 magnum, both with 4 inch barrels. You can tell by the chamber the 500 is considerably larger. The finish is just beautiful. Comes with Hogue grips, realized after buying a hogue grip on Amazon for $40, and seeing they were identical, other than the logo, Hogue vs S&W, I returned the Hogue. The trigger is amazing, super smooth, probably the smoothest I’ve experienced in a revolver, pull is around 3 pounds. Double and single action are amazing. Recoil is awesome, of course I love it lol, but also very manageable with the size/weight of this revolver, accuracy has been on point at 100 yards. The 4 inch barrel seems longer than I expected too, which is great. I initially worried that I should’ve gotten a longer barrel, but see now this size is perfect. Although I am considering also purchasing the 8.38 inch barrel later down the road, for even more accuracy, this 4 inch barrel is perfect. I definitely recommend this revolver.

This revolver is a BEAST and I love it! This is a true joy to shoot but be warned, once you start shooting it, you're going to attract a lot of attention! People will hover around you like Seagulls hover around the chubby kid eating cheetos at the beach. Shooting this gun is addictive to say the least, once you discharge the first round, you're hooked. But before you run out and buy this bad boy, make sure you're wallet can handle this addiction because feeding it isn't cheap.

Incredible. Simply incredible. The workmanship on the .500 is truly S&W. Perfect attention to detail and smooth operation. Ok, to everyone's question - how is the recoil? With all the hype about the .500, the first time I pulled the trigger I was slightly apprehensive, bracing for my wrists to be shattered and my arms to be ripped out of my sockets. With a single 325 grain 500 Federal Fusion round chambered, I pulled the trigger, half squinting and half aiming. Boy, was I surprised. Completely manageable and arguably no more kick that my S&W .357. The direction of the kick is more defined, feeling it in the curve of my hand between the thumb and first finger from the top part of the grip whereas the .357 is more of a dull thud felt through my whole hand, if that makes any sense. I was more surprised how completely stable th3 .500 is. Between it's weight, the focused recoil, and the muzzle break I had more success keeping it pointed where I aimed than with lighter framed semi's or revolvers. I went through 40 rounds on the range that day, able to routinely center my shots at the center of the target at 15 and 25 yards. My hand felt none the worse after those very satisfying rounds. My next adventure will involve some Magtech 400 grain topped with some Hornady 500 grain rounds. I imagine the kick will be more, but when balanced with the fun of shooting this gem, I still think I'll be smiling more than wincing.

This thing is a cannon! It's manageable with the Houge grips by using two hand grip and leaning into it when you shoot. Still love it. Buds is quick to ship as always, this not being my first and certainly not my last. Price is great too.

Very satisfied with this big guy. Buds took about 3-4 days to ship and once shipped it came in very quick. If you’re used to heavy calibers and hot loads the 500 is not hard to manage. The compensator makes recoil surprisingly mild. Once you upgrade to loads such as the 700 grain underwood lead rounds however, expect a sharper punch.

Great firearm would buy again.

Wow what a cannon. The recoil isn’t horrible but the boom and muzzle flash are ridiculous. It really gets people’s attention at the range. The weight of the revolver coupled with the hogue grip really make it manageable. My Ruger Super Blackhawk in 454 casull kicks substantially harder than this 500 S&W. Ammo is expensive so if you plan on shooting it regularly your gonna need to reload for it. The revolver arrived on time and in perfect condition. Buds was great as always.
