what a great buy. Savage accuscy with a rifle that needs no more accessories.

I'm very pleased with this rifle. I figured the chassis and action alone were almost worth the price and if the factory barrel was not real good, re-barreling it would be ok. Turns out this barrel is very accurate and getting better with more rounds fired so i'm keeping it. Even a good shooting Savage barrel can look pretty rough with a bore scope but this one is smooth as a button rifled one can be. It has surprisingly little tendency to foul and copper. Bolt lift is light for a Savage and it feeds and extracts perfectly. The chamber and throat are well done and head spacing is within .001" of my two other 308 bolt guns so reloading for them is easy. The trigger on this sample is plenty good, it easily adjusted down to two pounds with a crisp break.
