I bought my Regard Gen 4 from Bud's in 2021. I had already bought the standard Regard. I also own a Beretta M9A1 and M9A1-22 (also purchased from Bud's). Comparing the Gen 4 to my M9A1, several things stand out as significant upgrades from the Beretta. Better sights. G type de-cocker. G10 grips. Lighter, faster skeleton type hammer. Four slot Picatinny rail. Take down lever and oversized slide release lever are angled for use as "gas pedals". Front slide serrations. Oversize competition type magazine release. The Girsan has a more durable finish, displaying less wear of the finish. Machining is cleaner, with less tools marks. Essentially, the Regard Gen 4 is a race gun version of the basic Regard MC. Unlike the Beretta, Girsan was the primary supplier to the Turkish military and police. You will note that the grip frame has scalloped shallow finger grooves. This a military contract requirement. Vertical serrations on the grip frame do not work well in wet and muddy conditions. Finger grooves provide for a much better grip on the front and back straps under poor conditions. Indeed, they do so in perfectly dry conditions, as well. Early issues with M9 pistols prompted Girsan to make another design change. Girsan redesigned the locking block and mating cuts in the barrel. They designed in an angle of approximately 10 degrees. This does two things. This angle on locking block functions as a wedge, making for a tighter lockup. It also increases the load bearing area, adding strengt I was not a fan of the windowed G10 grips. So, I replaced these with a set of Hogue grips. Yes, Beretta grips fit. Beretta 92 and M9 magazines function perfectly in any of the Regard pistols. So, magazines are easy to find and generally, reasonably priced. There's no measurable difference in triggers between the Girsan and my M9A1. Overall, the Regard Gen 4 is an outstanding version of the original Beretta. The Gen 4 Sport offers standard features not available on lower priced Beretta 92/M9 pistols. Indeed, it offers features not available on the M9A3. Girsan does not stake the extractor, scarring the top of the slide. Instead, Girsan uses a roll pin. If you're wondering about reliability, don't... The Regard passed the extremely rigorous NATO testing and is approved by NATO for military service. If you like 92 series Berettas, you will like the Regard Gen 4 Sport. It offers more for less. If an M9A3 or M9A4 are well beyond your budget, you will not regret buying any of the Girsan Regard series of pistols.

A bulkier gun. But still a good shooter. Fun to go to the range with. Slide is a bit tougher to rack.

Function and fit as good as a Beretta. I did have to replace the slide lock with a beretta version. Had to make this change in order to have beretta magazine lock back the slide. Simple $12 part made the girsan more reliable with magazine ejections as well. Note ,stock it works perfectly fine with mecgar magazines.

Very nice Beretta 92 clone. It's every bit as smooth and shootable as my Beretta. I really like that the decocker pops back into the fire position. For the price this pistol can't be beat just like Bud's service.

The gun fires great no malfunctions and barley any recoil felt.I have nothing but great things to say about this place.the only negative thing I have to say is that I ordered the model with the blue grips and got the black grip instead it’s still a great looking gun but not exactly what I wanted I ended up keeping it but buds you let me down.buds usually dose a great job in shipping and products but this time they dropped the ball.
