The Tomcat Covert is a fun little pistol with a lot of personality. The tip-up barrel is convenient, the threaded barrel adds versatility, and it has been a great compact range gun.

This is the second Tomcat I have purchased. The first was manufactured in Italy. This one I bought for nostalgia's sake. What a disappointment! Sent it back to Beretta without firing a shot. The barrel was misaligned with the frame and it was scraping on its side. The recoil spring tabs and the recesses in the slide did not meet up properly so the only way i could reassemble the pistol was to use my third arm to push the tabs with a screwdriver. I understand that Beretta is coming out with a new model of the Tomcat so maybe they just shoved out the old models without a second look. The lands and grooves in the barrel also looked peculiar. I have been shooting since the 80's and have never seen a barrel like this. Over the years, I have received my share of "Factory Failures," but this one tops the list. It deserves less than one star.

I've seen bad reviews for this pocket pistol. I've heard that the frame is delicate and you have to fire lighter rounds to keep it intact and more. I can't speak for anyone else. I can only review my Beretta Tomcat. Yes, it didn't work well with one particular type of ammo, but worked flawless with another. So, you have to get to know your gun and experiment. It's a beautiful little gun. Beretta brings quality to it's gun. Personally I really like this gun, it's 5 stars for me, but I have a hard time recommending the gun because others have had issues and it's on the pricey side. My Tomcat is accurate despite the anemic sights. You can adjust the sights for windage. With the Covert model you can attach a suppressor, which is just cool. The body is solid steel and aluminum. The barrel is a tip up, so you don't have to rack your slide if you have hand weakness. It's also easier to just pop up the barrel to check if it's clear. My gun shoots very smoothly. I could empty a magazine in a second. I feel confident that it will do it's job in close quarters as long as I use the ammo that works well for me. I have no regrets purchasing this piece, but I'm reluctant to recommend it to just anyone. Bud's like always did an excellent job in delivery and service.

Took the Tomcat to the range and cycled 3 different brands of .380 without a problem. The pistol is a great pocket gun and, with the proper defensive ammo, you can achieve 15 inch penetration into a gel block with layers of denim, cotton and other clothing types. Not too much recoil and perfect for a Lady’s handbag. It has a manual safety and the barrel pops up to place a round in the chamber. It is easy to breakdown and clean. About the smallest handgun the is effective for defense at close range.

Perfect CC pistol for females that are recoil sensitive. Very accurate for such a small pistol , I highly recommend it

Shoots well. Grip is great size. The barrel release is very tight. And it requires a lot of pressure to get the barrel to latch. I hope the tightness and failure to latch will improve with use. Overall, it’s a neat little gun. Ideal secondary carry.

Decent micro compact. Very well made. It prefers the 62 grain HPs to the 70 grain FMJ Ball ammo which gave me a few FTFs. Good for a BUG. Decent trigger and groups well at 5 yards. Happy with the purchase.

double action does not work, when you pull the rigger in DA the trigger gets about halfway back then slips back to forward position. emailed Beretta and no reply

Unfortunately the Beretta’s slide would not rack back. Beretta say it will take about 2 months for its repair in the back up Q. Previous Tomcat was a very nice pistol, I’m sure this on will be as well. I would actually but this again because it was on my short list and I want to use it with my 9mm Surpressor

Paid for it and was here in two days! Sweet little pistol and can’t wait to get it the range.
