Out of the box, the first thing that stands out is the striking, polished deep-black PVD finish. It provides excellent corrosion resistance and stands up to scuffs remarkably well, giving the gun a mirror-like shine on the flats of the slide while keeping the top matte to reduce glare.The slide-to-frame fit is surprisingly tight for an imported 1911. Thanks to modern CNC machining, there is virtually none of the "GI wiggle" found on older or lower-budget models. The controls, including the extended thumb safety and beavertail grip safety, engage with a very crisp, snappy sureness.
