A solid gun. I also bought a .40 S&W barrel and can swap them out. Also change the recoil spring and you can shoot both.

This is a nice gun for sure. The fitting is very tight (no wobble whatsoever), it's very accurate and has a great trigger. The gripe are great too. The finish provides a lot of texture, making it extremely easy to do a press-check. The disassembly is a little different due to the bull barrel, and a simple tool should've been included IMO. A paperclip works just as well. A few negatives: - The finish damages easily; within 10 rounds I already had a visible blemish right behind the ejection port. - The factory magazine sometimes sticks while the slide is locked back and the magazine is loaded. I haven't had any problems with the Mec-Gar mags I've bought with it. Despite this, I'll still rate it 5 stars, mainly because of the price/quality.

I purchased for protection from grizzlies when fishing in the rivers and streams near my home I. Northern Wyoming. I contemplated a 44 mag but due to the size and recoil, I chose the 1911 10mm route instead. I still was a little concerned with recoil but after shooting the Rock Island Arms 1911, I was pleasantly surprised that the recoil was minimal for the size of this gun. I have not tried the bear loads I bought (and hope I don’t need to) but I am sure that will be the last thing on my mind if I encounter a grizzly bear up close and personal.

What can I say?? I've always been a fan of Rock Island products and this one doesn't disappoint! It has performed flawlessly from Day One.

Bought this on a whim because I don’t have a 10 in my collection. Price was really good and Rock Island is a decent quality manufacturer. Received the pistol quickly and was notified on the progress along the way. Pistol was packaged well and everything that was ordered was there. Been to the range three times in the last couple weeks and 800 rounds through it. No issues and it was fairly accurate out of the box. Had to do a little adjustments and now it is on. Heavy solid frame as you would expect with a 10. Nice grips but I may have to go a little bigger to fit my hand better but no real issue with the current grips. Very happy with the purchase and happy with the service I received from Bud’s. Next time I get him by a whim I will be looking at Bud”s for another something.

Bought and received, this pistol functions with no issues ,at least the one I received was a very good pistol out of the box,shoots better than me but I'm 70,But carefully shooting with my old eyes and cataracts, I averaged1 1/2 inch groups but I could get really tight 5 shot groups less than an 1/2" with carefull shooting,I did not get this gun on sale and it's single stack , but it shot everything from target ammo to heavy underwood very well,I'm happy.

Really good quality smooth action and trigger pull planning on purchasing another in different caliber. Be prepared to disassemble to clean when you receive

Beyond my great expectations. A full bodied beast of a handgun. Feel the power!! All steel construct too. If I must find a flaw it would be the looseness of the slide safety detent not being as positive as needed to insure it stays engaged or disengaged. I've built many 1911's over the past 43 years, so it was a minor issue. The trigger pull was 5.5 pounds and breaks clean. I've since adjusted the Series 70 style trigger to 3.5 pounds and taken up overtravel to just beyond the sear breaking point. I'm not a fan of fiber optics of any sort. These 73 year old eyes need the help for certain but I'll take mine black. That will soon be remedied with a new one. It loves jacketed bullets in the 165-180 grain range. Not as much with cast boolits but good enough for three inch groups at 50 yards with 200 grain cast. I've yet to have a stoppage of any kind after 300 rounds downrange. I'm pleased with the quality from Rock Island and the excellent processing from Buds. What a grand addition to my Ruger LC in 10mm.

Excellent handgun. A bit heavy but I would recommend it to anyone. Women be aware it is heavy.

I own a few pistols more expensive,but this rockisland 1911 10mm is my favorite one.

Best bang for your buck for a 10mm 1911, two thumbs up !!!

The gun arrived quickly, covered in oil, just saturated in it, but that can be cleaned easily enough (caveat incoming). The initial field strip to clean it was a bit fiddley. The manual seems to say to pull the slide before using a paperclip to hold the compressed spring, but compressing that spring is not a very easy thing to do. I saw a video saying just lock the slide back and you can access the little hole for the paperclip BEFORE you remove the slide. Much better than what the manual shows. Otherwise, good, tightly manufactured 1911, great adjustable sights, I haven't put enough bullets through it to break it in fully, but it's a sweet 10mm and looks way better than most other non-1911s out there. It will replace my S&W M&P .40 for hunting nicely, and weighs only a little more since the .40 held 15 rounds vice 8+1.

My second one purchased this is the single stack the HC is awesome too.

First I have to say I have nothing but good things to say about Budsgunshop. Very easy transaction and fairly fast shipping to Alaska. I own multiple 1911’s from 22lr to 10mm. This pistol is very well made and shoots well. But the slide is the hardest to pull back and chamber a round on any weapon I have ever fired. And cleaning the pistol is by far the hardest 1911 I’ve ever tried to take apart. It doesn’t have a barrel bushing and you definitely need to watch video on how to field strip it. Good luck getting the spring back on if you accidentally remove it. It’s a nice pistol, but I would think about going a different route for a 1911 10mm.
