  • The main reason the trigger is long and heavy is because this is a "striker fired" action and that means there is a lot going on when you pull the trigger. Often have long take up, long over travel, heavy break weight and that "gritty feel". You can find this in most brands of striker guns Glock, Sig, S&W, Ruger. I've read that the new Rugers have made strides in trigger quality but I haven't shot one. I also know that Sigs seem to have one of the best reviewed triggers right out of the box. My APEX improved Sigs have outstanding triggers now. Look into trigger upgrades that might be available for your gun, (see APEX) … if you can't improve it trade it.

  • Several reviewers have stated the same A J. "I did feel that the trigger pull on the XD-S was a bit heavier than it needed to be, but the trigger breaks smoothly and resets quickly with a tactile and audible click". You could look into another firearm at Buds an see what they will give you for a "Trade In Value" towards that purchase.
