Andrew. If a muzzle brake is welded and/or pinned permanently in place, it can count as barrel length. That's how manufacturers can sell AR-15s with 14 1/2" barrels (with a 1 1/2" muzzle brake welded/pinned in place), when the legal length is 16". If the brake is removable, it doesn't count as barrel length, per the BATF. Ruger's company web site states this rifle has a "26" , Free-floated, cold hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with 5R Rifling, Heavy-contour, featuring a Ruger Precision Rifle® Hybrid Muzzle Brake to effectively reduce recoil while minimizing noise and blast to the sides of the shooter." ruger.com/products/HawkeyeLRT/specSheets/47183.html

Andrew, some manufacturers state total barrel length with muzzle devices and some without. I would verify which directly with Tiger Customer Service at Telephone: 336-949-5200 ---- (Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm ET). You can also inquire online at : -- ruger.com/dataProcess/customerService/

Andrew, Muzzle brake is in addition to the barrel length. You can change out that specific accessory if you like.
