  • the difference in .223 and 5.56 is the thickness of the brass and pressure. You can shoot .223 in a 5.56 barrel with no problem. I would not shoot 5.56 in a .223 barrel unless it is a .223 Wylie barrel.

  • Vincent, This is correct. This rifle has a barrel that is stamped 5.56NATO so it will handle the 5.56 and lower pressure .223 round no issue.
