Is it better than the one that has a 5.5 inch barrel or pretty much the same? Is this only for bench shooting?

The gun itself is not more accurate because it has a longer barrel or longer sight radius ... it's easier to shoot more accurate because it has a longer sight radius ... big difference. It's easier to hold a stable sight picture with sights farther apart. Compare a small revolver to a .22 rifle ... you'll see what I mean. Having said that... this is a superior shooting .22 auto... one of the best ever.
It’s pretty much the same other than the longer sight radius due to the longer barrel. No, it’s not just for bench shooting. The longer barrel might be better because of the longer barrel. It was my pleasure to assist you,

Phillip, it will be slightly more accurate due to longer aiming sight radius and the extra weight will have less muzzle movement called barrel whip/harmonics for accurate shots. The extra length will also give you approximately 75 to 100fps higher velocity which increases your effective range by having less bullet drop for the same shooting distance compared to the 5.5 inch barrel.
