  Tim, the cylinder will make this revolver 70% thicker in this area. The handle will be only 15 to 20% thicker.

  Isaiah - This pistol, and any revolver chambered in .357 mag, will work with .38 special ammunition, just fine. One can save a few $$$ by using the .38 for range/training use, plus the recoil is a bit less.

  A transfer bar is also used in revolvers and certain exposed hammer rifles, but works the opposite way from a hammer block. The transfer bar has the spur that would otherwise be on the hammer or encloses a firing pin similar to autoloading designs. As you can see from the diagram, the hammer itself cannot contact a loaded cartridge or the firing pin, but must instead strike the Transfer Bar when it is in the Up position with hammer cocked. The transfer bar is normally positioned out of line with the hammer’s travel, but is moved into place by the normal action of the trigger, providing similar “drop safety” to a firing pin block. • Q: "I can confirm this true James. Shinier models tend to let you "Buff" out imperfections much easier." Thx. Pretty much what I'd seen implied though not spelled out. Think a full surface moderate buff feasible, changing the luster consistently to mitigate later such issues? All I own came to me blued, phosphatized, traditional polished stainless. Handled a couple ss matte finish pieces and found them appealing to the eye. Vagueness on appearance care and finish durability kept me at a distance.

• Q: Thanks for answers to other question. The other part
  ...I've heard the matte stainless finish is harder to keep clean. Having no direct experience with the finish it sounds odd. Is it true? Thx

  I can confirm this true James. Shinier models tend to let you "Buff" out imperfections much easier. if you try this on a "Matte" Finish gun you will definitely be able to tell when the buff patch is located as a "Slick/Shinier spot is created.
