This is a great 1911 at this price point. Rock Island Armory makes quality firearms, This is the classic 1911 government model in .45 ACP. This is the same model pistol that I first qualified with when I was in the Marine Corps. This pistol arrived only 4 days after purchase to the FFL. It would have been 3 except they are closed on Mondays. The pistol arrived with one 8 round magazine and covered in oil. After wiping the exterior of the pistol down I checked the action. Everything worked as it should. Unlike the original 1911, this one has a full length recoil spring guide rod. This makes it very similar to an M&P 2.0. The recoil spring end cap is therefore not solid like a standard 1911. This makes it a little more difficult to disassemble, but since I'm not on active duty anymore who cares? Unlike the standard government model this pistol can be fired with no magazine in the mag well. The safeties are all present. Safeties include the ambidextrous thumb safety, the grip safety and the half-cock notch. The rubber grips are a nice touch. My only knock is the sights. I thought they were supposed to be 3 dot, but they are the standard black 1911 sights. Not a big deal. I've purchased 2 seven round magazines in addition to the 8 round magazine that came with it. After 50 rounds on the range, there were no issues with feeding ammo. Looking forward to many more years with this great looking and great shooting pistol.

Buds was really easy to deal with as usual so no complaints about them. The gun ran great but it was hitting over a foot low and 6 inches or more to the left at just 20 feet. I am in the process of sending the gun back to Armscorp so once I get it back I will see if the issue gets fixed and revisit my review.

Very impressed! The gun shipped fast and in great condition. After it's first cleaning and detailed inspection everything was in working order and no issues noted. Took it out and put the first 250 of the 500 break in rounds through it (yes the manual calls for 500 round break in). The pistol never jammed or had a miss fired only issue was the provided magazine only lasted 92 rounds before it fell apart. Rock Island armory is replacing the magazine. For the price point this is a great 1911.

Awesome Gun. The detail and two tone feature is great. I have but a ton of rounds through it and have not had a single jam. I also changed out the grips for different ones.

As an old school Colt, Remington, Ruger, etc kind of guy I was hesitant to purchase a Rock Island Armory Product. However, I soon realized that they are high quality well made and affordable weapons. I bought the Rock Standard 2 tone 1911 and I'm extremely happy with it. I've only put a few rounds through it, but I'm very please with the accuracy and the way it feels Buds answered all my questions, had super fast shipping and a fantastic price! Buds and RIA are definitely a winning team.

An absolutely beautiful pistol! I’ve run 700 rounds with no issues whatsoever! This gun is a well priced and imo holds up to most 1911 I’ve fired!

Recieved this gun within 3 days of paying off the layaway. Came in great condition with 1 8round magazine.(expected 2, but seeing how the armscor mag it came with runs flawlessly it's not an issue since they are less than $20.) Put 50 rounds of Winchester white box, and 14 rounds of hornady critical duty ammo with no issues at all. The finish is amazing, and everyone loves the look. Great look and function for a great price.
