Everyone needs to own at least one Italian shotgun, here's an opportunity to do just that without breaking the bank. The Benelli M1 Super 90 is one of the smoothest, cleanest operating semi autos on the market. It is not gas operated, but rather uses Benelli's proprietary Inertia system, a brilliantly-simple system by which combustion gasses never come in contact with mechanical parts. The sleek, well-balanced M1 Super 90 is very easy to disassemble, and cycles reliably (and very fast). It features a polymer stock, a very comfortable grip radius, generous checkering, a 28-inch barrel with a 3-inch chamber, and two sight beads. It also comes with 3 interchangeable choke tubes.

Specifications:

  • 12 Gauge
  • 28" Barrel
  • 3 Chokes- Full, Modified, Imp Cyl
  • Synthetic Stock/forearm

I ordered this gun sight unseen during the Christmas sale as the price simply could not be beat for an inertia driven Benelli. Upon arrival and inspection, I may have had some second thoughts on the purchase had I seen them in store. The action and barrel appear to be typical Benelli quality but the furniture is what you would expect on a much cheaper brand, and honestly there is much better for much cheaper. A fairly significant mold parting line runs down the middle of the forearm. Enough that extended shooting could cause hand irritation. I will have to remove that long burr and smooth that out at some point. The recoil pad appears to be from another model and "ground to fit" the M1 stock with the fit leaving a lot to be desired. Ground too much in one area, not enough in another, and overall not smooth. I am surprised to see that kind of poor craftsmanship with the Benelli name on it. It also appears that they did not follow their own instruction manual for installation/removal of the pad by lubricating the screwdriver before insertion into the pad. Both screw access holes on the pad on this particular gun are ripped enough from the torque and friction of a dry tool being used during install that at some point I expect them to propagate and require a pad replacement.
Was it a good buy? Time will tell as I have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet but I am disappointed in the fit and finish of the gun, even at the discounted holiday price. It is simply not the quality I have grown accustomed to from a Benelli at any price.

My last 12ga was a 15+ year old Rem1100. I took this Benelli out for a hunt yesterday and let me tell you. This gun is so much lighter, more responsive and less jarring between shots, easier to point, and problem free. I have only used the gun once now, and I shot 2.75" 1oz 8 shot through this, but the main point is I walked a few miles through mostly mud in the swamp and the gun was a pleasure to have.

Save yourself a lot of money and buy this shotgun! I would recommend this shotgun over any semi auto shotgun under $1200.
The quality is fantastic, and the ease of disassembly and reassembly are a nice change after owning many gas guns.
You may be thinking about spending double on a new semi auto, but I promise you, this one will do the same thing.
125 shells through it with no issues at all.

Great value for the price paid in my opinion. From what I've read and seen this is essentially an M2 with the basic plastic stock and fore end. I believe It has the m2 high rib barrel set up with the crio plus interchangeable choke system. Also the same bolt and action as an M2 & can accept a magazine extension tube as well. Thanks to buds for an awesome benelli semi auto for under 800 and the fast shipping to IL !

Great shotgun i got it to use and not worry about it getting scratched up like the higher priced models. It's a benelli what more can you say

Well first off let me just say it’s a Benelli! I really could stop there and that would say enough but it’s just an amazing gun so I wanna tell a little more! It’s just like a sbe1 identical except for the barrel and trigger guard! I got a chance to take it early wood duck and teal last week and it did not disappoint! Shoots smooth and very fast! It’s feels so good just like my old sbe1! It’s def an upgrade you have the M2 barrel so crio choke tubes! But it’s a great and for the price I even thought about buying another one for the hell of it just because you
Can’t go wrong with a Benelli in my opinion and at that price just makes me happier go ahead and order one you will
Not be disappointed more then likely you will order more then one! And of course buds customer service second to none!

Great looking gun came as described in brand new condition as expected. Chokes were marked as crio and interchanged with my 25th anniv sbe2 chokes no problem. Choke wrench was rusty in It's little bag, not a big deal but I thought it odd. Bolt is updated to the modern M2 pattern i.e. It will not float a shell on the carrier without some Dremel grinding if you're looking at this for three gun etc. very pleased.

The Buds exclusive Benelli M1 Super 90 represents a good value if value is defined as what one gets for what one pays. The price of this new version of the M1 is $849 versus about $1100 for the equivalent M2 field model. The $250 difference is manifested in the following: 1) No plastic case. The new M1 comes in a cardboard box. 2) Three chokes. IC in the barrel, and F and M with the choke wrench. The chokes are the original Benelli/Beretta Mobil, not the newer Crio chokes. I assume the barrel is also not Crio-treated. 3) The older M1 field stock. No ComfortTech or chevrons with this model. 4) No bottle of Benelli oil is provided. 5) User manual is in English only. The manual says "M1" but looks like the M2 manual, down to referencing five choke types and the Benelli oil. 6) Serial number starts with "M", has six numerical digits, and has a suffix ending in "Y18" as opposed to the older serial numbers that just had the "M" and six numerical digits. The gun itself is much like my much older M1 with the exception that the new guns's trigger guard/trigger plate is polymer, not aluminum alloy. If the proof is in the shooting, the gun shoots like my older M1. Hence the good value.
