  it looks like it will work on a mil-spec fore end.....the fore end has to be removed in order to install the adapter and then reassembled

  Unfortunately, no it will not fit because it is a mil-spec component. There are many options for M-LOK applications. Search on Poplar firearm sites for easy access to those components. You might also be able to find adapters for this.
