The compatibility with any special piston system is not guaranteed. Also, the rail system works with standard AR-15 upper receivers. What are the difference between the 316H optics ready and 316L optics ready? What is that extra $250+ getting you?

Anthony, the 316H comes with a "Heavy Barrel" which will heat up slower, it has a "Mid Length" instead of a "Carbine Length" Gas Tube, Carrier Interior Carrier Key - chrome lined, it also has better quality internal parts. It is worth the extra $.

Very nice entry level AR-15. The only issue I had was I ordered a slim line hand guard for it and even though my question was answered on here if it would fit over the gas block it did not. The gas block is low profile with a small railed section for a front iron sight, but a slim hand guard will not fit over it maybe normal size would idk. Now have to order low profile gas block more money. But overall very pleased with the rifle itself. I’d recommend. Mag that comes with it is a little cheap though.
