I was never sure about needing a 7mm-08. These Ruger Americans make it hard to pass up a good quality gun in a cartridge you like. I have a Leupold 3-9x40 on it and hope to take a bear with it soon.

The Ruger American series is a winner in my estimation. I have them in 22LR, 22-250 and now 7-08. I have yet to shoot the 7-08 but the 22-250 shoots 3/8 to 5/8" groups at 100 yards with my hand loads. I am impressed and anxious to shoot the 7-08.
The 7-08 came with a Picatinny rail which was too long to use with my 2-7 Vortex scope and low rings. I had to order high rings for proper clearance. Not a big deal but delayed my mounting the scope.

Buds was outstanding in getting my rifle to me. I'm very meticulous on the appearance of my firearms and take pride in keeping them in new like condition. I thought I looked this rifle over good at my FFL dealer but after the transfer and getting it home I found long scratches and blemishes on the bottom of the barrel. I can't believe I missed this damage at the dealer. I'll try to touchup the finish and make it look better. This was my fault for not detecting these blemishes before the transfer and I have no idea where or how this rifle was damaged. My 73 yr old eyes are letting me down.

After shooting a Ruger American in 30-06 and one in 308, I had to get one to go along with the 7mm-08 reloading dyes I had. This one is as accurate as the other two, after dialing the scope in, it'll get them under a quarter from 100yds. if you do your part. For the money these rifles can be beat.

Great gun and very accurate. Good 200yrd grouping i coved a 5 shot group with a quarter. I would recommend this gun.
