Will the ATI Heatshield fit with this system or not? Is it even necessary?

The ATI heatshield is not a standard option Eric. The replacement hand guard is already isolated from the barrel and will transfer minimum heat. You would literally have to be in a "Fire fight" to heat this to an uncomfortable level.

I don't think you'd need a heat shield here. I use gloves often when shooting, with gloves you'll be fine. Even without gloves, in think you're fine here.

Installed the stock with no issues whatsoever. Even though it appears the screw is going in at an angle, the included tool made it super easy to screw in. However, the forend did not fit. I purchased the tool separately to remove the forend, but the new one does not simply slide on the shotgun. There is a “lip” that stops it from sliding all the way.

this item is great!!! direct bolt on except for the foregrip if you have a maverick. the forgrip for mossberg has a nut that removes the grip and you can slip this one one. Other than that it looks great on my maverick 88.
