Ruger revolvers are some of the toughest, finest, and most reliable weapons in both single action and double action. The Blackhawk chambered in .45 LC is no exception! You can certainly feed a steady diet of +P ammo to your Ruger and you will have no issues. I have a Blackhawk .45LC, GP100 .357, and an SP101 also chambered in .357 and all three are built like tanks. So, to answer your question, you certainly can shoot +P ammo out of your Blackhawk. The frame was designed and engineered to do just that.

44 Magnum 36,000
45 Colt (Ruger) 25,000 cup
45 Colt 14,000
I posted the SAAMI specs for the above ammo. As you can see, the 44 mag, which the redhawk is also chambered in ( which I have 2 of) is double the pressure of standard colt and 1.5 times higher than even the 45 colt ruger only loads.
You are good to go. -

Ruger Blackhawks are so strong that many reloading manuals have special hot loads for them (at least in 45 colt). From Modern reloading ".45 colt for use in Ruger and TC only"

Yes. In fact high pressure ammo sold by Buffalo Bore expressly states that their +P rounds be used in Large Frame revolvers such as the Black Hawk. To me that shows that Ruger knows how to build some real strength into them, so you should have no problems as long as you follow the reloading guidelines.

I've shot heavy +P loads for years in these revolvers and the only drawback was some would jump the cylinder base pin out from the heavy recoil. Here's the cure.

This is listed as a Large Frame Blackhawk (not the small frame model) when you match up the UPC, so +P would be fine here. But the UPC also says this model has a 7.5" barrel. So Buds may have made a mistake on the barrel length.

Yes, Rugers are built to take it. I have shot other brand revolvers that were rated for +p that gave me pause as they didn't seem that robust. I realized that my experience with Rugers has jaded me against lighter build firearms. I am not sure you can find a revolver as stoutly built as the Blackhawk.

Yes, there are a lot of loads in reloading manuals for **RUGER and Thompson TC ONLY** because they can handle the loads whereas Piettas and others cannot. Nice gun!
