It is a good solid 1911 it is very reliable and you will not be able to wear out the gun (carbon steel) in your lifetime surplus Carbon steel 1911s are still going strong from WW I
The carbon steel actually wears better than stainless as it will not gall like stainless and holds lubrication better. The outside finish is the only drawback as it will wear and need refinishing from time to time.
