i understand on a muzzle loader the longer the barrel is better for long range and accurate .then why is CVA saying that there new paramount LR 45 cal is the greatest of there guns for long range with only a 26" barrel

I will be going to the range to sight in my Savage 10BA Stealth Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. I got a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope. My local gun store ordered me two 50 round boxes of Hornady American Gunner. 140 gr BTHP. I will be shooting primarily at the range and this will be the first rifle that I have sighting in with a scope being the only sight. My question is, what would be the best distance to sight in my rifle? That will allow the best use of the scope, in changing distances? Gah31.

I recently purchased my first AR. I’m considering placing an optic on it and am debating between a simple Red Dot sight (such as the Sig Romeo) or a 1-4 (or maybe 1-6) scope with an illuminated reticle (such as a Vortex Optics Strike Eagle). I’m interested in pros/cons from folks who have used one or both of these type of optics. Thanks in advance.
