Well, thanks to Josh T and Edward C; we're back to the drawing board; I was originally leaning Beretta over the S&W 40, but then the Canik was re-introduced with a 10+1 capacity. I like the rugged/tac feel of the Beretta APX, but Canik is known as an awesome budget gun and accurate. Lifespan, warranties, perks, etc --any selling points? Can I get some pros/cons of each gun and possibly steer me in the right direction? Will monitor and provide Best Choice within the half hour. You guys rock!!

Looking to make my first pistol purchase. I am here in NJ, so we had a 10rd mag limit (I was also looking at Caniks but their standard included mags are 15+). After reviewing quite a few compact (4" or sub) pistols; these two were where I ended up. Can anyone with some experience provide some pros/cons and help me make a choice? Will be used for a fun little arm for range as well as home protection (which, lets be honest, I hope we never have to use for that purpose).

Does the projectile of this round have a Jacket made of steel or is it made of copper/brass? Terminology of "steel case" is never clear about what the actual bullet itself is made of. "Steel case" implies the hull is made of steel which is obvious by looking at it, but never states if the bullet's jacket is made of steel or copper/brass.
