This would be my first pistol Red Dot. I'm very slowly and reluctantly getting in touch with the 21st century while clinging onto my 1911s and revolvers. Bud's information is more than lacking in the description of these items and there doesn't seem to be very many reviews. I know I'm not going to pay 4 to $500. Anyone out there have an opinion on this or another "budget optic"

Good day. I am really interested in purchasing this firearm, but a buddy of mine told me that because the barrel is less than 16", you must register it with the Federal government and pay a $200 tax because of the Any Other Firearm law that applies to any weapon with a barrel under 16". This one has a 10.25" barrel. Can you please tell me if this is correct information? Thank you.
