I see that this is the "tactical" model, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere that it's tapped and drilled for optics. Is it optics ready like most tactical models, or does it need some gunsmithing first?

Just bought a Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer Elite Champion 45 ACP - PI9136E and tried Wilson Combat compact magazines which were too short and wouldn't click in place. I'm thinking now this will take full size 1911 magazines. Can someone confirm this? Also, I've read that wilson combat are the best mags for a 1911? They are quite expensive though. Any others that are less expensive but have sound reputation? Thanks.
