Did you know that the AI mag well for this rifle is readily available from Ruger? I installed one on my American Compact .308 and it works flawlessly. Contact Ruger customer service and speak to someone in the "Rifles" department. They are very familiar with this upgrade and can send you a complete kit for it. It will fit all but the very earliest models of this rifle.
