Sir or Ma'am, Are the receiver and related parts forged, or cast? Also, do you allow hand select for a fee to get the darkest wood they have? The few I have seen in person are very very light and it's the only real detraction I can find. Thank you for your time.

I just picked up a Marlin 1895 GBL from my local FFL. My question is about the Marlin rebate requirements. Marlin requires the original purchase receipt, as well as the UPC info off the manual. I have the UPC info, but No purchase receipt From Buds. The only thing I got was a copy of the packing slip with my name, gun serial# and cost. I don't think this will fly with Marlin (website says "No Exceptions". Anyone had an experience with Marlin rebate? Does Buds issue original receipts?

Would it be possible to find out or get a picture of the receiver stamping on this 5817 model. I was told at Ruger the later models were stamped with the 5.58 NATO stamp. Also, at what point before the purchase could I get a serial number to check the facts on the gun purchase.
