    The Mossberg Shockwave is legal in Colorado if you have a federal tax stamp and the proper paperwork:
    Federal definition of a shotgun
    The Shockwave has a 14-inch barrel, which is four inches shorter than the federal requirement of 18 inches. However, the Shockwave is classified as a "Pistol Grip Firearm" and is not intended to be fired from the shoulder.
    Colorado law
    You can legally own a short-barreled shotgun in Colorado if you have a federal tax stamp issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).
