Hi Andrea and welcome. The Glock 17 Glock pistols have three independent safeties that work in sequence when the trigger is moved: Trigger safety: A lever in the trigger that prevents it from moving rearward - Firing pin safety: A mechanical safety that prevents the firing pin from moving forward - Drop safety: The trigger bar rests on the safety ramp and prevents the firing pin from moving forward. A holster would protect the trigger from accidental firing as well. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
