  • How much do the armor plates add to the overall weight of the jacket. Can you give me a comparison of the total weights two leather jackets of the same size and style? One with and one without armor. Many thanks, Mark

  • Hi Mark, this level of detail is not available by retailers. They have many sizes of jackets( Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL, XXXL ) with each having (4) 1lb plates. 6.5lbs is the approximate weight of the "Large" side jacket. "The XXL without the plates could weigh twice as much as the small). Are the plates the same size/weight in different size jackets? If so, the larger jackets would have less protection area. I would get these details from the manufacturer Talos Ballistics at 231-252-0302 or email at info@talosballistics.com

  • Each jacket includes 4 plates which weigh a pound each. Jackets weigh about 6.5 pounds each so 2.5 pound swing for weight of empty jacket.
