What is CFD#?

I got a request for this today from Buds.
Since I picked a local ( to me) ffl from their preferred list I would have figured they had all that info. I’m assuming it might mean California firearm dealer #; as I am in People Republic of Cali. I’ll try and track down ffl. Ugh Cali

It means California Firearms Dealer. I'm in Ca ...The CFD number is a unique number assigned by DOJ to each fully licensed firearms dealer location in California pursuant to Penal Code section 26700. The CFD number serves as the dealer's identifier for submitting DROS information and for other business dealings with DOJ.

I believe Cali Firearms Dealer Ralph. However I would verify this with Buds in the morning via LiveChat (available from 9AM to 9PM 7 days a week), the "blue chat now" button at the bottom right of the page, or phoning at (859) 368-0371 (available 9AM to 9PM EST Monday through Friday).
