Visited my local gun store today and he told me he is no longer selling shotguns for home defense. He said everyone today wants the fancy ARs and short barrel 9mm. With the price of ammo and training required, I wonder if this is true? Fancy may not always be better, especially when a stove pipe or jam happens. Just wondering.

Hi James, this is not true at all. I think that gun shop is pushing those other guns because they have a higher profit margin than, say, a Maverick 88.
A lot of people still use and will tell you nothing beats a shotgun for home defense.
