  • just bought a Ruger New Model Blackhawk 7.5 in' barrell .45LC convertible (45ACP) Model 0456. it comes with black rubber grips and i want to change out with Rosewood, but there are two options, the Rosewood grips and the Rosewood grips WITHOUT lock. Does anyone know if this model comes with the internal grip lock and if not, how do i tell?

  • Ruger stopped putting in the locks in 2013 so unless it is a 5 year old gun it does not have the lock the key will look like a handcuff key with the ruger logo

  • You can get the grips for the lock and they will work on both guns

  • if its a new gun it will not have the lock. did you get a "key" for the lock? a lock grip will work just fine on a gun without a lock

  • Simply remove one grip side Brad. The lock looks like this : gunblast.com/images/Hamm_Ruger-SA-GripFrames/DSC00231.jpg ------------- : Close up : gunblast.com/images/Ruger_Flattop44/MVC-696F.jpg
