  • I am thinking about buying the RIA MAPP. Is it considered a 2011? Does it have the grip angle of a 1911? thanks.

  • Hi Ken and welcome. It is not a 2011 but does have a similar 1911 grip angle. -- https://news.armscor.com/what-you-should-know-about-the-mapp-series ----- Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Hi Ken, the MAPP is not a 2011. The trigger on a 1911 (and 2011) slides straight back to engage a seer, that then drops the hammer.
The RIA MAPP-FS 9mm has a grip angle that is similar to the 1911, making it comfortable for those who prefer that style. However, it is important to note that the exact angle may vary slightly compared to other models.
Stay safe & have a great day!

  • This is what information I found for you.
Yes, the RIA MAPP is considered a 2011-style handgun. While it shares some design similarities with a 1911, the 2011 platform generally refers to double-stack 1911s, like the RIA MAPP, that have a wider grip to accommodate a larger magazine capacity. The RIA MAPP specifically uses a double-stack magazine, which is a key feature of the 2011 design.
