I currently use a Remington 870 12 gauge pump to dove and quail hunt. It's heavy, but gets the job done. I am 68 years old and need a lightweight gun. I like the Browning A-5 20 Gauge for dove, quail, turkey, and other game. It is very lightweight and having shot it a couple times, I believe this Semi-auto might be the best gun for my current needs. I am getting older (68) I think this lightweight A5 is perfect for my needs. What do you think?

Sir Henry,
The Browning A-5 20 gauge is an excellent choice for your needs, especially given your preference for a lightweight, versatile, and reliable shotgun. Its semi-automatic action reduces felt recoil, making it more comfortable to shoot, especially as you age. The 20 gauge offers enough power for dove, quail, and turkey hunting while being significantly lighter than your Remington 870 12 gauge, which can reduce fatigue during long hunts.
Considering your age and desire for a lighter firearm, the A-5's balance, reduced weight, and ease of handling align well with your goals. The classic design and proven reliability of Browning's A-5 make it a popular choice among hunters seeking a lightweight, all-around shotgun.
