  • The mag release can be moved to the other side. For the slide release, you'd need to buy an aftermarket slide.

  • Angelo, if you want to slide release convenient for a southpaw without some aftermarket parts, you may want to consider going with the gen 5 which comes with the ambidextrous release.

  • Hi Angelo, the Glock 29 Gen 4 allows for the magazine release button to be switched from the right side to the left side, making it suitable for left-handed shooters. However, the slide stop lever is not designed to be switched and remains on the right side.

  • Happy Friday Sir Angelo,
The slide stop (slide lock) on Glock pistols is typically designed for right-handed use, and the Gen 4 models do not come with an ambidextrous slide stop from the factory. However, aftermarket parts are available that provide an ambidextrous slide stop, allowing left-handed shooters to operate the slide more comfortably.
The Glock 29 Gen 4 comes with an ambidextrous magazine release, meaning you can swap it to the other side if desired. Glock offers factory parts and kits that allow left-handed users to switch the magazine release to accommodate their grip comfortably.
Hope this helps Sir Angelo and hopefully you'll catch some really good Labor Day sales. Please take care and have a safe long weekend 🙏

  • Hi Angelo and welcome. Unfortunately, only the magazine release can be switched to the left. The G29 Gen 4 does not have a slide stop notch on the opposite side to facilitate reversing the slide stop lever. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Yes, the Glock 29 Gen 4 allows for switching the magazine release from the right side to the left side by flipping the ambidextrous release button and repositioning the internal spring. However, the slide stop lever cannot be switched to the left side on a Gen 4 model, as it requires a true ambidextrous system found only on Gen 5 pistols.
