  • I just received the Mossberg & Sons 590A1 Retro 12 GA 9rd 20" [51665] I bought from Buds Gun Shop. Upon opening it, I discovered the forend is cracked, with a noticeable crack. This is very disappointing. I have clear photos to share. How would I do?

  • Mr. Feng Sir,
If you have not accepted the transfer, do not complete the transfer; inform your FFL dealer you are refusing it due to damage.
    - Contact Buds Gun Shop immediately, provide photos, order number, and FFL info.
    - Arrange for the firearm to be shipped back at Buds' expense.
    - Choose a refund or replacement after return.
If you have already accepted the transfer
    - The firearm is now considered "used"; contact Mossberg’s service at service@mossberg.com or (800) 363-3555.
    - Provide serial/model numbers, photos of the damage, and describe the issue.
    - Fill out Mossberg’s online service form, selecting "Forearm."
    - Follow shipping instructions (ship responsible for costs, remove accessories, no ammo).
    - Mossberg will repair or replace the part; typically shipped directly to you.
    - In regards to photos for Buds, attach photos via email or upload through their chat.
    - For Mossberg, upload via their online form or email attachment.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Best of wishes and good luck Mr. Feng Sir 🙏🏻

  • Hi Feng, unless the gun is still at your FFL, the only recourse is to go through Mossberg. That is why it is important to inspect the gun before completing the transfer. If ther gun is still at the FFL, it can be sent back to Bud's and replaced with another.
Once you have taken possession, you need to go through Mossberg. Contact Mossberg at (203) 230-5300 or via the web here >>> mossberg.com/contact-us

If transfer is finalized then the damaged is found you'll need to contact Mossberg to open a repair/ service/ warranty work order. You can contact the at the below link. Sorry your firearm was damaged. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your weekend.
