  • Is the hole that goes to the rear of the buttstock in a tokorev TAR 12P a hole for attaching a qd sling assembly via a screw and nut through it,holding the qd base in? Otherwise how am I supposed to put a sling on it? Certainly not a one point sling with the muzzle facing up?

  • Yes, the circular hole near the upper rear of the buttstock on the Tokarev TAR 12P is for attaching a quick-detach (QD) sling swivel.
Some users note that since the socket is made of polymer, it may not be as durable as a metal one. However, others report successfully using it for QD attachments. An easy installation method is to simply use a sling with a push-button QD swivel, which snaps directly into the socket.
The TAR 12P also has alternative sling attachment points, such as slots at the front of the buttstock, where you can loop a traditional web sling.

  • Yes, Bruce,
The circular hole at the rear of the Tokarev TAR 12P buttstock is for a push-button QD sling swivel it’s already integrated, so no screw or nut is needed. The system includes a socket and swivel, just get a sling with a push-button QD swivel, press the button to retract the ball bearings, insert it into the socket, then release to lock.
Additionally, the front slots allow you to pass a sling directly through, or you can install an M-LOK QD mount on the rail.
Hope this helps. Take care and stay safe!

  • Hi Bruce and welcome. Yes, the 2nd sling attachment is on the butt stock itself, the circular quick detach slot near the upper rear of the stock. The QD attachment can be mounted on either side of choice. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy! You can see in this video starting around 3:20 - youtube.com/watch?v=G_fOOVyJCsg
