Hi Ralph and welcome. You may have a Tight-fitting barrel and receiver. Try loosening the two screws on the receiver slightly. Loosen one side at a time and test the action after each adjustment to avoid over-loosening. If the action opens after gradual alternate loosening, note the position of that screw and put a dab of loctite and tighten to that orientation.
