  • Good afternoon to you!! The 9mm Luger is one of many names the 9x19 goes by. 9mm parabellum is another. 9mm NATO is just a higher pressure version of the 9mm. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

  • 9mm = 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9 x 19, or simply 9mm. They are all the same!

  • Hi Joe and welcome. Yes. 9 Millimeter goes by many different names including 9mm, mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9 x 19 or simply Nine. 9mm Nato is just a higher-pressure Military loading of 9mm. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Hi Joe, 9mm in this case refers to 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9 x 19, or simply 9mm. They are all the same cartridge.
    .
9mm NATO ammo has the exact same dimensions as the 9mm Luger. It should load perfectly in any weapon designed for the cartridge.
However, because 9mm NATO is a military round, manufacturers load it to higher pressures. (This delivers greater velocity and energy.) But the increased pressure means it’s almost like a +P round and it is not identical to 9mm Luger.
The Kimber Mako is designed to handle +P ammo.
Stay safe & have a great day!

  • The Kimber R7 Mako is designed for 9mm Luger ammunition, and reviews confirm it reliably handles hot 124-grain NATO-spec FMJ rounds, often used in range testing, with many users finding it handles +P loads well too, though a steady diet of +P isn't recommended by Kimber for longevity.
