  • Good evening to you!! First of all from one vet to another thank you for your service. What is comfortable to me may not be comfortable to you. I also believe in Clint Smith adage of a CCW firearm should be comforting over comfortable. I have a micro Springfield Armory 1911 in 45acp that was my go to gun when carrying. I have since switched to the micro 9's due to capacity. I carry a Springfield Armory Hellcat for the last 3 months and love it. I switch to the hellcat from a S&W M&P Shield. Mostly because of the number of rounds the Hellcat can be loaded with. If you really want a 1911 you won't be satisfied with anything but. But, be aware the the micro 1911's are a handful. So with that being said, buy the hellcat and save for a full size 1911. You may also want to see what your friends are carrying and how they like or dislike the firearm. Go to a quality gun store and try out as many as you can and see how well they fit your hand. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

  • The Springfield Hellcat would be my choice but you have to conceal it. Reliable and ergonomically pleasing. 👍🏻

  • Hello!! Everyone's body type is different and what fits me may not fit you. I carry a Taurus GX4 in a OWB holster from Rounded.

  • Hi Mike and welcome back. Of the models mentioned, I am partial to the Springfield Hellcat Micro 9mm. I own two, one of which my wife carries, and I carry my Springfield XDM Elite 10mm. Different firearms will be judged differently by different folks. A small carry pistol for a 5-foot 6 person will be vastly different than for a 6-foot 3 country boy. I recommend going to a brick and mortar and handling each and picking the best feeling one for you. Cheers and stay safe!

  • Funny you don't have the Kimber Micro 9 in there as that's what we've been checking out & discussing lately at my LGS. At my LGS, we all like it because it's basically a mini 1911. Considering we are all partial to 1911's , it's no surprise we like the Kimber Micro 9.

  • I would go with the non-polymer 1911. It is what you want. The others will just disappoint. For the trigger if nothing else.
