BudsGunShop.com - Damaged forend

Ordered a CZ Drake for Christmas. When it was opened, there was a noticeable defect in the forend wood that hadn't been noticed before by my FFL. FFL says to contact CZ, but I did get the lifetime warranty from Bud's.
Anyone have any direction here?
Thanks!

Hi Brian, Bud's lifetime warranty does not kick in until the manufacturer's warranty is expired. All CZ-USA firearms are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for one (1) year on wooden parts and surface treatment, so you would need to go through CZ to have the situation remedied.
Register your firearm and get warranty coverage here >>> czfirearms.com/en-us/warranty
.
This is why it is important to inspect firearms before you accept the transfer. It is up you you, not the FFL, to inspect the firearm. If you had refused the transfer, the gun could be sent back to Bud's for a replacement. Once you take possession, you must go through the manufacturer's warranty.

Good luck, stay safe & have a great day!
