Good morning to you!! Yes the Charter Arms Item #13820 is +P rated. Since it has such a small (2") barrel I suggest not feeding it a steady diet of +P ammo. I'd carry with +P and train with regular rated ammo. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

Yes, the Charter Arms Undercover (Item #13820) is rated for +P ammunition, but Charter Arms recommends using standard loads due to the short 2-inch barrel causing excessive recoil and less-than-optimal powder burn, though it can handle the pressure; it's designed for defense but be mindful of the increased kick from +P rounds in that short barrel.
Key Points:
+P Rated: The gun itself is built to handle the higher pressure of +P loads.
Manufacturer's Caveat: Charter Arms suggests standard .38 Special for better handling, not because the gun can't take the pressure, but due to the short barrel's effect on recoil.
Item #13820: This specific model is the standard Undercover with a blued finish, black rubber grips, and is indeed rated for +P.
Recoil: Expect significantly more recoil with +P ammo compared to standard .38 Special, making follow-up shots harder.
