  • how long do i have to return an unused firearm. it is still at the ffl and has not even been open?
    this past year, i had my civil and firearm rights restored but only verified verbally with the court that everything was taken care of. a cpl of days after the gun was delivered at the FFL,i ran into my lawyer just by chance&advised me to not even attempt the transfer until i have a Certified Copy of the court order restoring my rights from the court clerk. all apologies.

  • Hi Holly, Bud's does not specify a timeline, but as long as you haven't taken possession, you should be able to return it. You can have your FFL call Bud's to initiate a return, or you can call yourself 1-859-368-0371 9am-7pm EST Mon-Fri.
    Bud's policy states - "In the case of failed background checks and incorrect ordering, original shipping charges are NOT refunded if the item is NOT found to be difective. Customers will be responsible for return shipping in these cases. These orders may be subject to a 15% restocking fee."

  • Hi Holly and welcome. Glad you got your civil and firearm rights restored. Since you have not completed any paperwork, just contact Buds and let them and your local FFL know your circumstances. Buds will arrange pickup of the firearm and issue a refund once received back into their inventory. Buds Customer Service is at 1-859-368-0371 9am-7pm EST Mon-Fri or by Chat the same hours.   • I'd give Buds Customer Service a call at 1-859-368-0371 9am-7pm EST Mon-Fri and let them know the situation. As mentioned, if returning a firearms due to failed background check or other issues not pertaining to issues with the Actual firearm, you'll not be covered for shipping cost and may need to pay a Restocking fee.
