Hi Joshua, if you return the gun, you should get a receipt/paperwork showing the gun was returned. Take that to your sheriff's office and they will update their records showing the gun is no longer be registered to you. Unfortunately, you will not get your permit to purchase back.

Seriously, go to your local Gunshop/FFL & talk to them. They can guide you much better through the process, especially if you're thinking of buying & returning? I don't know why you'd want to return a firearm. You can see if there's a local range that rents pistols. Then, you can try a few out and see what suites you. Otherwise, you might be buying, trying & returning a lot?

Let Buds know the firearm is being returned and Buds will arrange pickup and refund, replacement or credit. Good evening to you!! Please see the link below for how the try it program. The firearm will ship to your local FFL just as normal. Permit to the LEO as normal. Just inform them of any returns. The best bet would be to talk to the LEO and see if they have ever dealt with this situation before. You can also contact Bud's at 1-859-368-0419 or 1-859-368-0371. Hope this helps.
