  • The best optics are the ones that are right for you and what you are planning to use it for. Do not feel pressured to get “the best optic.” Do your research, watch some YouTube videos, and choose a quality optic that you like and one that is suited for the type of shooting you will do. Personally for the AR platform, I prefer either a nice Scout style scope or good old fashioned Iron sights.

  • It really depends on what and how you're going to be using the firearm. Do you want a LPVO, if so the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 is hard to beat. Do you want a red dot? Try the Sig Sauer Romeo5 Gen II. Want a holographic? Try the Eotech HWS XPS2-2 1x 68 MOA Ring.

  • Good morning to you!! I would use a good variable powered scope like the strike eagle from vortex or a burris lpvo. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

  • Hi Stanley and welcome. The Primary Arms SLX or the Sig Tango MSR are both calibrated for bullet drop for 5.56/.223 and are excellent choices for the ASI 5.56; --- budsgunshop.com/search.php/q/818500018759 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/137383/sig+sot61000+tango+msr+1-6x24mm ------- I have and use both and they are both great. I favor the Primary Arms just slightly better. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

  • For an ASI 5.56 (or similar AR-15 platform), the best optics balance speed and precision, with top choices including the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 FFP for versatile LPVO use, the Trijicon ACOG 4x32 for rugged combat-proven performance, and the Sig Sauer Romeo5 for budget-friendly reliability.
    Top Optics for 5.56
Best LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic): Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 FFP or Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24 Gen IV offer the best blend of 1x speed and mid-range magnification.
Best Red Dot: Aimpoint Duty RDS MR (high-end) or Sig Sauer Romeo5 Gen II (budget) provide fast target acquisition and incredible durability.
Best Holographic Sight: EOTECH EXPS3 HWS is favored for close-quarters speed, especially for users with astigmatism.
Best Prism Sight: Trijicon ACOG TA31 4x32mm or Primary Arms SLx 3x MicroPrism (budget), which feature etched reticles excellent for astigmatism.
