so if i choose a ffl in green on the buds site list do i have to have that ffl contact buds or will buds contact the ffl?

You will want to contact the FFL as well just to confirm for yourself that they will do the transfer. Buds will just ship the firearm to them and your information will be with it so the FFL can call you when it arrives.
