So I was about to purchase a firearm with my military discount until I saw that you have to send a copy front and back of your id. I thought I remember a security forces officer telling me that it is actually illegal to copy it. I checked again today with security forces and personnel and they both said that it is intact illegal. US code title 18 part 1 chapter 33 code 701. how are people getting around this and if it's illegal how can Buds ask for it?
