Hi AHMED, the CETME will be fine shooting the 308 or 7.62x51 ammunition. it will not fire the 7.62x54 as it is an entirely different cartridge. The M-14 you used actually fired the 7.62x51/308 the same as the CETME. The 7.62x39 is an AK/SKS round and is much smaller. The M-14 is chambered for the 7.62x51 not the 7.62x39. The 7.62x54 is a rimmed cartridge developed by Russia for the Nagant rifle and is use in many others including the Dragonov sniper rifle and the Russian Maxim machine gun. It is not interchangeable with the 7.62x51. The 308 win and 7.62x51 will work in your rifle.You'll probably find that the bullets heavier than 147 will work best.

Hello, the 7.62x54 is not compatible with the 7.62x51 NATO. It is slightly longer and is used in the Russian surplus mosin Nagant rifles. The .308 will work in your CETME as well as the 7.62x51.
